Three veteran artistes honoured together

Swadinata Padak winners Hasan Imam and Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and Ekushey Padak winner Shahin Samad received yet another honour recently. In an event organised by Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad (BSSSP), the three were honoured in a special manner. The event took place at the Music and Dance Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capitals Segun Bagicha on Friday.
BSSSP, which was established in 2007, usually arranges events to celebrate their founding anniversary. However, this time, they organised the special programme for the purpose of honouring Hasan Imam, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and Shahin Samad in a befitting manner.
President of BSSSP Tapan Mahmud said, The three eminent artistes recently were awarded with the prestigious Swadinata Padak and Ekushey Padak awards and we thought it would be fitting if we try to honour them in a special way with crests and other gifts.
Hasan Imam said, I would like to thank the president of Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad Tapan Mahmud and General Secretary Biswajit Ray and all those associated for organising such an elaborate and fantastic programme. It has really impressed me and I am really grateful to them for giving me such an honour.
Shahin Samad said, Ever since winning the Ekushey Padak, many organisations have come forward to honour me. But the programme by Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad is the one which I appreciated the most. I truly am grateful to them.
Rezwana Choudhury Bannya shared her thoughts, The event was very organised and had a very welcoming feel to it. I had a wonderful time and I wholeheartedly thank Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samannay Parishad for such an arrangement and for the honour.
