Petroleum, mining deptt students get internship facility

The power, energy and mineral resources ministry has created internship scope for 500 students . Such facility would be available also for the students of petroleum and mining engineering departments, reports BSS.
The government initiatives including winning of the maritime boundary would generate employment for students of petroleum and mining departments, state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid said while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar here yesterday.
Jessore Science and Technology University (JSTU) organised the seminar on Petroleum and Mining Engineering in Bangladesh and Prospects with its vice chancellor Prof. Dr M Abdus Sattar in the chair.
The state minister said authorities of the JSTU would have to give priority for practical education of the students, it said.
Educational institutions would create professionalism to resolve problems at official level and student having internship would resolve such problems easily, he added. Among others, chairman of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department Dr M Tofail Ahmed and Professor Badrul Imam of Dhaka University also spoke in the seminar, the release added.
