A Bangladeshi youth sustained bullet injuries as Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly fired gunshots at him at Shibganj border of the district early yesterday.
The injured youth is Moazzem Hossain, 22, son of Nasir Uddin of Jaminpur village of Shibganj upazila.
Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Junaid Alam Khan, commanding officer of 9 battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), said Moazzem was injured as the BSF members of Churi Anantapur camp opened fire while he along with others was moving around the Jaminpur frontier at around 2 am, leaving Moazzem injured. Moazzem's associates rescued him and took him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, he said.
