Three men of the indigenous Garo community have reportedly remained missing since after they were picked up by a group of ‘plaincl othes policemen’ from Gazni area in Jhenaigati upazila in Sherpur on Thursday night, reports UNB.
Quoting family members, Tribal Welfare Association sources said some 10-12 people posing as plainclothes policemen conducted separate raids at the houses of Bibhash Hagidak, 25, son of Sushil Marak, Rajesh Kubi, 22, son of Sumit Chandra, and Prabhat Sangma, 50, son of Rasen Sangma in Gazni area and picked up them on Thursday night.
Panic gripped the indigenous people following the incident. Mizanur Rahman, OC of Jhenaigati Police said, “Police have heard the matter from local people but we have no information about it.” Besides, the family members of the victims have not yet lodged any complaint, said OC.
