RAJSHAHI: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has urged the heirs of valiant freedom fighters to build themselves as worthy citizens for materialising the dreams and spirits of the Great War of Liberation, reports BSS.
He said the students as well as the young generation should have knowledge on the war of liberation and the then political leadership. The state minister was addressing a scholarship award giving ceremony-2016 for Rajshahi division styled “Scholarship to Heirs of Muktijoddhas by Government of India” held at Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Rajshahi city yesterday as chief guest.
On the occasion, 78 higher secondary and graduation level students from different districts in the division were given scholarship valued at Taka 10,000 and 24,000 each respectively. Referring to the Indo-Bangla relation, Shahriar Alam said the bilateral relations have certainly witnessed a significant upswing over the past couple of years.
