Despite being key member of Bangladesh’s pace battery Rubel Hossain missed the last T20 Asia Cup, Zimbabwe series at home turf alongside ICC World T20 2016 on the trot because of his prolonged injury layoff.
Actually Rubel has been out of the game since December last year after playing six matches of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) third edition for Sylhet Superstars.
Thereafter, the fast bowler has been toiling hard to fully recuperate from injury. Now he is hundred percent fit and seeks to come back in his regular business with DPL, where he wants to bewilder batsmen with his new and lethal stock delivery.
The right-handed fast bowler tipped upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL) as a challenge for him and said that he will make his best attempt to make his place in the team once again.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m hundred percent fit for the game. I’ve worked on my injury alongside improved my bowling since many days. I’ve joined with the team for the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) after getting the nod of the BCB physician,” said Rubel Hossain, who played 23 Tests, 67 ODIs and 11 T20s for Bangladesh to date.
“Premier League is, of course, important for me. I was out of the team since many days. It’s a big challenge for me to enter into the team. For it I’ve to work hard,” Hossain told reporters at National Cricket Academy yesterday.
“I’ll try to bowl well in every match. To do well in it, I’ve fixed my target to evolve in ‘match by match’ in DPL,” he added.
Rubel along with Sabbir Rahman, Mehedi Maruf, Taibur Rahman were purchased from players draft by reigning champions Prime Bank, who retain the services of Nurul Hasan Sohan and Shuvagata Hom. They all will join with a string of youngsters including Nazmul Hossain (Apu), Yasir Ali Rabbi, Monir Hossain, Shahnaz Ahmed, Mohammad Azim, Jony Talukdar, Yasir Arafat Mishu.
“Our team has been a balanced team with the blend of experienced and young talented players. I’ll try to give my hundred percent efforts for the team’s success,” the 26-year-old pacer vows.
“I always try to give my best to do well in bowling. This time I’ll also focus on my performance. If I could do well then selectors will think of picking me for the team again,” Rubel told in response to a query.
