Newly appointed High Commissioners of Ghana and Uganda to Bangladesh,
who are non-resident, based in New Delhi, yesterday met Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali separately and discussed various bilateral issues, reports UNB.
High Commissioner of Ghana Samuel Panyin Yalley and High Commissioner of Uganda Elizabeth Paula Napeyok, during their
meetings with the Foreign Minister appreciated Bangladesh's socioeconomic development and expressed interest for wider economic ties with Bangladesh.
The envoy of Ghana proposed opening an honorary consulate in Dhaka.
The Foreign Minister welcomed the proposal and directed the officials present at the meeting to take necessary steps, according to a Foreign Ministry press release.
The High Commissioner expressed interest to import jute bag from Bangladesh.
The High Commissioner of Uganda said both the countries can work together in the area of readymade garment, and there is a scope for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to produce agriculture products on their lands.
