Share price indices at the country’s twin bourses—Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- gained yesterday, the fourth trading day of the week, reports UNB.
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 20.70 points or 0.45 per cent to close at 4527.42 on the day. Of the 316 issues traded, 200 gained, 85 declined and 31 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 447.16 crore changed hands at the DSE yesterday as against Tk 410.59 crore on Tuesday.
The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Al-Haj Textile, Prime Islami Life Insurance, Golden Harvest Agro Industries, Atlas Bangladesh, Desh Garmants, Appollo Ispat, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills, National Tubes, Legacy Footwear, and GQ Ball Pen.
Top five losers at the DSE were Savar Refractories, 7th ICB Mutual Fund, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, Standard Insurance, and Agrani Insurance.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Tosrifa Industries, GrameenPhone, United Air, Khulna Power Company and Familytex. The CSE key index, CASPI gained 67.82 points to reach 13922.61 at close on Wednesday. Of the 229 issues traded, 143 advanced, 57 suffered loss and 29 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the CSE was Tk 44.02 crore on the day.
