4-year-boy abducted in Dinajpur

A 4-year-old boy of a college principal was abducted from Hakimpur upazila on Monday. The victim has been identified as Abtahi, 4, son of Mamunur Rashid, principal of Hakimpur Women College and resident of Muharapara in the upazila. Family members said police could not make any headway in the past 24 hours since Monday.  Emran Kabir, sub-inspector (Investigation) of Hakimpur police station, said they are continuing drive to arrest the criminals. Family members said Abtahi went out of home to play on Monday morning. At around 11.00am his mother found him missing. As they failed to trace the boy, his father filed a general diary with Hakimpur police station on Monday night. On Tuesday at 11.00am, his father received a text message asking Tk30 lakh  as ransom. There have been several abduction cases in last few months in the area. Of them, two children have been murdered for nonpayment of ransom of money and the rest still remain unaccounted for.
