State Minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid yesterday said the government has a plan to give the people power at a reasonable price but it is a big challenge for it, reports BSS. “We want to give the people power at a reasonable price but it is a big challenge for the government,” he said while speaking at a programme organised to hand over ‘ISO 9001: 2008 certificate’ to Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited.
He said there is no deficit of power in the country but load shedding is taking place sometimes at some areas because of faulty transmission line. But such problem of load shedding will soon be solved, he added.
The state minister said the country is generating 8300 megawatts of power daily.
