Destination Sweden seminar held in capital
A seminar, titled Destination Sweden, for Bangladeshi students was held in the capital recently giving the participants an opportunity to interact with other candidates who have been selected to study in Sweden.
The Embassy of Sweden in Bangladesh in cooperation with the Swedish Institute and Business Sweden hosted the seminar at a hotel in the capital. Five Swedish universities joined the seminar held on Monday, said a Swedish Embassy press release here on Tuesday. Swedish Ambassador in Dhaka Johan Frisell was also present.
Australian HC team meets UGC chairman
A four-member delegation of Australian High Commission (HC) led by Ben Sakker Kelly, first secretary (Education and Research) of Australian HC in New Delhi, yesterday, paid a courtesy call on UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan at his office. The other members of the delegation were Second Secretary of the Foreign Affairs and Trade Department of the Australian HC in Dhaka Federic Jeanjean, Advisor (Education and Research) of Australian HC in New Delhi Shazia Naqvi and Business Development Manager of Australian Trade Commission in Dhaka, Mostafizur Rahman, said a press release.
Human chain protesting women repression
Bangladesh Nari Sangbadik Kendra, an organistaion of women journalists, will form a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the capital at 10am today to protest the number of violence against women in the country, says press release. All have been requested to attend the programme on time, the press release added.
