SUTA Executive Committee announced
A 21-member executive committee of Stamford University Teachers’ Association (SUTA) was announced on Saturday as per its constitution for next two years 2016- 18, says a press release.
Barrister Sazzad Hossain, chairman of Law department and Sheikh Nahid Neazy, Assistant Professor of English department were elected president and general secretary respectively of the executive committee on the basis of general consensus in its annual general meeting.
Other office bearers are Vice-President Ahmed Kamruzzaman, Associate Professor of Environmental Science department, Joint-Secretary Naiem Jalaluddin Ahamed, Assistant Professor of Business Administration department, Treasurer Shaikhul Arefin Khan, Associate Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department, Office Secretary Raju Chowdhury, Assistant Professor of Natural Science department, Social Welfare Secretary Md. Mosharrof Hossain, Assistant Professor of Journalism and Media Studies department, Cultural Secretary Kurratul Ayin Deepa, Assistant Professor of Law department, Press and Publication Secretary Mirza Md. Adwit Rahman, Senior Lecturer of English department.

103 graduated midwives pass licence exams

A total 103 graduated midwives from ‘Developing Midwives Project’ under BRAC University (BRACU) have passed the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC) licence examinations, says press release.
The examination was held on February 26, 2016. These midwives come from different parts of Bangladesh with very low socio-economic conditions. The Developing Midwives Project (DMP) has focused on strengthening midwifery services in under-served, disadvantaged rural and urban communities in the country by training girls from communities of greatest maternal health needs through a three years long Diploma in Midwifery course.  
The Diploma in Midwifery education with 155 credits is a three-year academic programme which follows a competency-based curriculum compliant with the standards of the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) and accredited by the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC).
BRACU has been implementing the Developing Midwives Project since 2012 . This project is funded by the UK government.  The Diploma in Midwifery education is approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
