Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain yesterday said the authorities will hand over 840 flats at Uttara Sector 18 Apartment Projects to the buyers in December this year, reports BSS.
More 1,500 flats will be handed over in June next year (2017) while the remaining 4,296 flats in June 2018, he said during a visit to the construction site of the project in Uttara in the capital.
Currently, the construction of 6,636 apartments is going on the area, said an official release. The minister said when the construction will complete, the project will resolve residential problem of a large number of people.
He said the price of the flats was fixed much lower than the flats constructed by private companies as the government has undertaken the project giving importance to the housing of the middle-class people. High quality schools, play ground, market lake and other amenities have been ensured in the project area, he added.
Besides good road communication, the residents in the project area will be able to avail metro rail facility, he said. Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Member Abdur Rahman and senior officials concerned were present during the minister's visit.
