Policeman killed by bullet fired from own rifle

A police constable was killed by a bullet fired accidentally from his own rifle at Kotchandpur Police Station in Kotchandpur upazila of  the district yesterday. Additional superintendent of police Jhenidah,  Azabahar Ali Sheikh said constable Solaiman Hossain, 23, of Sadar upazila in Jessore, received a bullet fired accidentally from his rifle while performing duty at around 2.30 pm yesterday. He was taken to Kotchandpur upazila health complex where the duty doctor declared him dead.  The body has been sent to Jhenidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem.
