Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the captain of Bangladesh in ODI cricket, backed his pacer Rubel Hossain to go wild on the ground, stating that if his madness comes as good for the team, he has no problem with that.
But he warned that he doesn’t want to see any personal attack and that he wants to limit the aggression in just batting and bowling.
There is common belief that Rubel has some issue with India batsman Virat Kohli after the former’s exaggerated celebration as he dismissed Kohli during the quarterfinal of the World Cup. Later Rubel denied any issue with Kohli, saying the batsman’s wicket is at the moment a bowler’s dream. But people love to believe that Kohli and Rubel had spat during their stint in Under-19 World Cup which still continues.
“If his (Rubel) madness comes good for our team, I have no problem with that but I don’t want to see any personal attack in the game,” he said when the Kohli-Rubel issue was raised.
“I didn’t see anything between Kohli and Rubel. He has just got Kohli out once. They have no issue rather we people raise the question and creates problem. It’s not right. At the end, we all shake our hands. That’s the spirit of cricket. Rubel wants to give his best for the team and so as Kohli. At the end one will come out as winner. That’s the cricket.”
Mashrafe however rates his pace attack highly saying, “I think at the moment we have good pace attack. There is Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain and newcomer Mustafizur Rahman. All of them have proved their potentiality.”
The pace spearhead was confident that he would play the first game as he became fit after the road accident which caused an injury on his palm.
“I’ve been bowling and also batting for the last two days. Hope there will be no problem to play.”
As Litton Das is all but sure to take the place of Mahmudullah Riyad, question who would keep the wicket between Litton and Mushfiqur who also have been practicing wicket-keeping since the completion of the Test and looked comfortable in keeping wicket.
Mashrafe doesn’t answer it straightway as he said, “Mushfiqur has been doing the job for the last seven or eight years. He would take the decision whether he will keep it or not.”
