Dil Dhadakne Do: A Must Watch

Dil Dhadakne Do undoubtedly was one of the most anticipated Indian movies of this summer. Directed by Zoya Akhtar the movie has some of the big names of Bollywood right now. The movie stars Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma into the main role. Farhan Akhtar plays a cameo in the movie and is one of the producers as well. One of the surprising things the movie has to offer is that Aamir Khan gave voice for a dog, which plays a role of a narrator throughout the movie. There are total 12 credited actors in the movie.      
The script is written by Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar (dialogue) and Javed Akhtar (additional dialogue). It’s a travel comedy movie with a pinch of drama. The trailer of the movie was all over the web and promised a lot. The performances of Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Ridhima Sood, Rahul Bose, Zarina Wahab, Parmeet Sethi and Vikrant Massey were both hilarious and entertaining. It’s the combined effort on the part of supporting cast that saved the ship from sinking. The cinematography is done by Carlos Catalan and visually the movie is quite pleasing. Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy gave music for the movie with the lyrics written by Javed Akhtar, the movie has some lovely soundtracks. Ranveer Singh had to portray a 25-year old but he looked 35 plus in the movie. Anushka Sharma plays a lead dancer in a cruise liner, not sure how many cruise ships have Indian dancers as leads. Critics gave mixed reviews, mostly referring to the fact that it’s a family drama that went wrong and doesn’t have a proper ending. Nevertheless the audiences found the movie to be quite entertaining and from the box office perspective the movie is doing quite well. For movie buffs who love Indian comedy dramas, it’s a must watch.
