Mercedez car seized in Sylhet
Customs intelligence personnel seized a luxurious Mercedez car in Sylhet on Saturday midnight.
"We seized the Mercedez car having no registration from the possession of a London expatriate Abdul Malek in Sylhet after 36 hours search as the car went missing since Friday night," director general of customs intelligence Dr Mainul Khan told BSS.
"The highly expensive car was brought in 2012 under carnet facility without customs duty," he said, adding that search is on to capture over 100 vehicles which have been brought evading customs duty.

Annual Sports Competitions
Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Public Administration HN Ashikur Rahman has said regular practice of sports and exercise flourish physical and mental strengths of the children.
"There is no alternative to sports and physical exercise for maintaining physical strength, fresh mind and sound health," Ashikur said while inaugurating the 'Fourth Divisional Annual Sports Competitions-2016" at Rangpur Stadium here on Saturday.
Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Employees Welfare Board (BEWB) organised the sports competitions followed by discussion and prize distribution ceremony in the afternoon. A total of nine teams, including one each from all eight districts under Rangpur division and Rangpur city, participated in 31 different events in the sports competitions.

Bicycles distributed
The City Bank Limited (CBL) distributed bicycles among the girls students of Babu Khan High School of the city and Chondipur Model High School in Rangpur on Saturday.
With assistance of Management and Resource Development Initiative (MRDI), the CBL distributed the bicycles under its corporate social responsibility services to assist female students.
Deputy General Manager (DGM) at Rangpur Branch of Bangladesh Bank distributed the bicycles among the girls students at a ceremony arranged at the auditorium of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) as the chief guest.   Additional Managing Director of the CBL Faruk Mohiuddin Ahmed and Headmistress of Rangpur Government Girls' High School Farida Yasmin also addressed the ceremony moderated by Divisional Coordinator of MRDI Rafique Sarker.
