The government has taken an initiative to extend the Hatirjheel project and widen its roads, said Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain yesterday, reports UNB.
The minister said this while talking to reporters after a cabinet committee meeting on the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) at the Secretariat.
Mosharraf said plot owners of the area will be allowed to construct high-rises (above six-storey ones) following Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) rules as the government has withdrawn a ban on constructing high-rises in the area. Besides, a consultation firm has been appointed for removing contradictions in the DAP and the firm will submit its report by this month, the minister added.
