BYLC organises its sixth national workshop

Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC), the country’s first leadership institute, hosted the sixth national workshop on the ‘Art and Practice of Leadership’ from June 6 to 8 at the EMK Center in the capital. The three-day workshop on developing leadership skills was specifically designed for the third and fourth year university students. The Bangladesh Bank supported the workshop.  
After rigorous screening of the 500 applications received from all the seven divisions of Bangladesh, 47 of the most promising young minds were chosen to participate in the workshop on developing leadership skill, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills. The workshop also consisted of a career panel with leading dignitaries from the public, private, and non-profit sector who talked about their personal leadership and career journeys. Asif Zahir, Director of Ananta Group, Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Tahsina Ahmed, Director, Skills Development, BRAC, graced the career panel and shared inspiring stories from their careers.
At the end of the workshop, S. K. Sur Chowdhury, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Eileen O’Connor, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia and Senior Director of Communications and Public Diplomacy, joined the certificate giving ceremony as the guest of honour and special guest respectively. In his speech, S. K. Sur Chowdhury said, “BYLC is giving Bangladesh an exceptional service by training the next generation to lead effectively in different sectors. Bangladesh Bank is proud to be a part of this journey.”
