CHANDPUR: Naval police, in a drive, seized 3,500-kg jatka from a passenger launch in the Meghna river Friday night, reports BSS Mohammad Shahidul Islam, in-charge of Chandpur Naval police outpost, said members of the force conducted the raid in the Dhaka bound "MV Karnaphuli-1"passenger launch from Barisal and found 3,500-kg jatka(small hilsa) in an abandoned condition in the launch. The seized jatka was distributed among the poor and disadvantaged people of Chandpur this morning in presence of concerned officials, he said.
