Salahuddin hits back at his critics

Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin, president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), hit back at his critics who have been raising the questions about his honesty and also termed BFF as corrupted body.  
In a press conference yesterday at the BFF office, just a day after the some of the organisers and former football players who went to meet BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon under the banner of “Save the Football” claiming that the current committee of the BFF is corrupted and urged BCB boss to inform Prime Minister about all and also to help to change the committee.
“I love football, football is my passion so I have come here for the development of football, some quarters, former football players led by my captain in the “Swadhin Bangla Football Dal”, said that I have a personal account to transfer the money which came as FIFA Grant.”
“If anybody can prove it I am ready to face any punishment even if it would be ten years jail sentence. If  they can’t prove it then they would have to seek mercy publicly to the media persons.”
Salahuddin also explained about the FIFA grant, he said, “You know, FIFA provided a fund of 2.5 lakhs dollar and every two or one year they send audit (representatives) team to scrutiny as where their money is used and give an approval, if they could find any irregularities definitely they (FIFA) would stop sending the fund.”
“We have to give appearance money every team of the Bangladesh Premier League, Champions League, we have to run the office, foreign and local coaches for different national sides, team’s travel to abroad, we have so many expenditure sectors.”
Salahuddin also said that they (BFF) served the audit report to all the councilors for their observation. But nobody sent any negative reply and in an emergency meeting in Chittagong recently the report was passed unopposed.
“I was very much disheartened with the language they attacked me where my captain Zakaria Pintu and my senior player Golam Sarwar Tipu were present.”
Salahuddin also questioned that if he is corrupted, then how could be he elected SAFF president for two times unopposed.”
Salahuddin replying to query about their failures in national level, said, “Yes, I take the blame we have no success international arena, it is very much awful but once players demonstrated to play football, they were no football in the ground, footballers have very poor income, after we taking the charge, football is going on regularly and players earning handsome amounts.”
“Fighting against the world of million dollars we have to wait to see success,” said Salahuddin about the debacle of the national team in the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
Salahuddin mentioning the upcoming election of BFF said, “I don’t like to challenge but I invite all to come and compete in the election.”
Salahuddin did not make any comments about the organisers’ and former players meeting with the BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon- “No comments, said Salahuddin replying to a query.
Salahuddin repeatedly confessed their failures of national team’s debacle, “I take the blame, but I would not make the mistake again, I love to see the national team’s success like you, if I would come again then I will not repeat the mistakes.”
Almost all the executives, including Abdus Salam Murshdi, Badal Roy, Harunur Rashid, Tabith Awal, Shamsul Haque Chowdhury MP, Sattyajit Das Rupu, Fazlur Rahman Babul, Iqbal Hossain and others.
