Johannes Theurer to give talk at Goethe-Institut April 10

Goethe-Institut Bangladesh has invited Johannes Theurer, a radio journalist and expert in the digital representation of traditional music in modern archives, to give a talk about the insights into the international world music scene, its organisation, institutions and the best ways to get connected to it. DhakaLive has news that Johannes Theurer will speak at an event titled ‘Bangladeshi Music And The World – Insights Into The International World Music Scence By Johannes Theurer’ on April 10 at the auditorium of Goethe-Institut Bangladesh in the city’s Dhanmondi area. He will provide details about how to bring projects to the market and explain application processes. Following the talk, there will be an open reception providing further opportunities for networking.
Johannes Theurer began as a print- and broadcast journalist in 1978. In the 1990s, he organised international trade shows and music conferences and was co-founder and head of music for the intercultural Berlin radio channel ‘Radio Multikulti’. Today he works as a project manager, editor and broadcaster in Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB). He is chair of the world music group of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU/Geneva), publishes the “World Music Charts Europe” and is president of the Association for Traditional Music (Berlin). In addition, he is the RBB manager for the international audio-archiving project ‘Europeana Sounds’ Where: Goethe-Institut, Dhanmondi
