HABIGANJ: At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Zaira village under Bahubal upazila of the district yesterday, reports BSS.
Police source said an amount of Tk 320 of a madrassa teacher, Abdul Hannan, was stolen when he was taking bath in a pond. The money was kept in his clothes which were rested on the bank of the pond.
After taking bath Abdul Hannan found his money was stolen. He doubted a madrassa student for the mischief and assaulted him when he came to attend his classes the following day. The Student went back to his house and informed the incident to his guardians and local people.
Locals along with the guardians came to madrassa and asked the teacher about the matter, and then an altercation began.
Two groups, one of the teacher and the other of the accused student, got involved in a clash, following altercation, at about 10am that continued for over an hour.
Thirty 30 people belonging to both the groups were injured in the clash and they were admitted to different hospitals and clinics.
