Man gets life for rape

Netrakona: A tribunal  yesterday sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for raping a minor school girl in Atpara upazila in 2003, reports UNB. The court also fined the convict, identified as Mayan Miah, 27, Tk. 25,000, in default to suffer six months more RI. The convict also awarded 14 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined him a further Tk. 25,000, in default to suffer a further six months, for abducting the girl.
