A man was killed in a cross fire between two rival groups and police at Mollikpur village in sadar upazilla of Faridpur early yesterday. The deceased was identified as Amzad Molla, 42, a resident of the village. Amzad is an accused in seven cases including those for murder with the Kotwali Police Station, said police. Additional Police Superintendent Md Kamruzzaman said, acting on a tip-off that two groups of robbers –one led by Amzad and another by Ayub had been trading gun shots in Mollikpur village, a team of police rushed to the spot at about 2:00am and opened fire to bring the situation under control. After both the groups fled the scene, police found Amzad lying with bullet wounds in his head. Amzad was taken to Faridpur Medical Collage Hospital where the duty doctor Riazul Hasan declared him dead.
