Stocks stumble after five days

Stocks stumbled yesterday after showing steady rise in the past five consecutive trading sessions. All the indices at the country's twin stock exchanges closed in red, though with marginal fall, reports BSS.
The daily transaction, which marked significant rise in the past few trading sessions, was also down on Tuesday as investors took cautious stance to watch the market direction.
The boarder DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the day nearly 22 points lower at 449.72, with the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES following it downwards to 1670.25 and 1065.99 accordingly.
The major CSCX index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also fell yesterday at 8253.64.
The daily transaction at the two stock exchanges, however, decreased on the day, with the investors buying less to observe the next course of market direction.
The trade value at DSE fell to Tk 317.78 crore from Monday's Tk 490.39 crore while the volume decreased to 9.95 crore shares from 14.29 crore shares of the previous sessions.
Similarly, the trade value at CSE slid to Tk 21.23 crore from Monday's Tk 42.21 crore, with the trade volume declining to 79 lakh shares from previous day's 1.54 crore shares.
