Central student union inauguration ceremony held at Gono Bishwabidyalay
The inauguration ceremony of student union of Gono Bishwabidyalay was held on Monday at Gonoshasthaya Kendra PHA auditorium. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal attended the programme as a chief guest, says a press release.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said student union of all public universities and colleges will be re-opened as early as possible for making future leadership. Dr Enamur Rahman, parliament member of Dhaka-19 Constituency, Md. Benjir Ahamd, president of Dhaka District Awami League and former parliament member, Additional DIG Habibur Rahman PPM, Registrar of Gono Bishwabidyalay Md Delower Hossain, newly elected VP of Student Union Md. Shamim Hossain, GS Md Imran Hossain also spoke, among others. Later a cultural programme was held.
Gono Bishwabidyalay is the only private university in Bangladesh where central student union is being run. Earlier its first committee started journey through a grand inauguration ceremony on September 29, 2013.
2 DU students get Misbahuddin Khan Memorial Scholarship
Md Habibullah and Shahnaz Perveen, students of History Department of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded ‘Misbahuddin Khan Scholarship’ and ‘Jahanara Khan Scholarship’ respectively for their outstanding academic results.
Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function at the VC's lounge of the university. Dr Muntassir Uddin Khan Mamun, Professor of DU History Department had donated money to introduce these scholarships in memory of his parents.
IU chemistry dept reunion Apr 8
KUSHTIA: The first reunion programme of the Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia will be held on April 8 on the campus, Alumni Association of the department confirmed on Monday.
The decision was taken at the departmental meeting with chairman of the department Professor Dr Tanzima Pervin in the chair. Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Abdul Hakim Sarker is expected to attend the programme as chief guest. Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Acting Registrar SM Abdul Latif and Proctor Professor Dr M Mahbubar Rahman are also expected to attend the programme as special guests. Convener of the Association Dr Sharif M Al-Reza said, "All preparations have already been taken to hold the reunion in a peaceful manner. We expect that more than 800 former and current students will attend the reunion programme."
