Police yesterday arrested three people for their alleged involvement in freedom fighter Poresh Chandra Gush murder case.
The arrested were Prodip Mondol, 27, Monjur Alam, 25 and Mohammed Hira, 24. All are the resident of Kathora area of the district. The freedom fighter Poresh, an accountant of Chandona Cinema Hall, was shot dead by a group of armed robbers while they were committing crime early Monday in the area.
Khandeker Rezaul Hasan Reza, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur police station, said Gawtam Chandra Gush, son of the victim, filed a case with Joydebpur police station against the arrested men and 10 to 12 unidentified men on Monday night. Later, police arrested them from their residence on Tuesday morning. Police produced the arrestees before the court seeking remand and later, the court granted a seven-day remand.
