A Madaripur court yesterday put on hold a case against eight people, including four policemen, in connection with the killing of Dhaka University student Sujan Mridha in ‘cop firing’ during the 2nd phase UP election, reports UNB.
Police super Mohammad Sarwar Hossain said the court did not take the case as another case was earlier filed in connection with the incident.
He said district Detective Branch of police assistant sub-inspector Enamul Haque Mondal filed a case against 250 unnamed people with Sadar Police Station on Sunday night in connection with the incident.
The SP said the court will decide about the case after receiving report in the case filed by the police.
Victim’s father Bachchu Mridha went to file the case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday accusing district Detective Branch of police assistant sub-inspector Enamul Haque Mondal as the prime accused.
