IGP Cup National Youth Kabaddi from tomorrow

The final round of the IGP Cup National Youth Kabaddi (Under-21) will begin from tomorrow at the Kabaddi Stadium in the capital.  Eight teams divided into two groups will participate in the tournament.  
The preliminary stage was started from Thana level while the champions of the Thana level moved into the district and the district champions played in the Divisional competition, champions of the eight divisions will compete in the final round.
The first round started from November last year with 6240 players from 64 Thanas while the organisers provided jerseys and financial support to every players, the best player of the each zone were given Taka 3000.
AKM Shahidul Haque Inspector General of Police (IGP) stated this in a press conference at the Bangladesh Police Headquarters in the capital yesterday.
 Eight teams’ draw was also held on the occasion when Comilla, Sylhet, Dhaka and Nilphamari districts were drawn in the Group A and Satkhira, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Barisal districts will fight from Group B.
Two groups will play in league basis when the top two from each group will qualify for the semifinals.
The champions team will receive Taka 1,00,000 as prize money while the runners-up and third positioned teams will have Taka 50,000 and 30,000 respectively, the best player of the final round will also be given Taka 10,000.
IGP, Shahidul Haque informed the reporters that they organised the tournament to form the second string of the national team to provide players for the national side.      
Shahidul Haque, also the president of the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, said that they will pick up 35 players from this tournament for higher training and foreign coach will be appointed to run the camp.
