Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan said that they are in right track and should maintain it in days to come as they have to go a long way ahead.
“I don’t think that World Cup is all the sources of learning. It may be the source of something which we could take from it. It’s important that the position we are now possessing in world cricket, from where we could compete against any team,” said Shakib Al Hasan yesterday.
“Highest run-getter or best bowling figure was its proof. I think, we may be selected as the best catch-taker in WorldT20. Overall, it proves that how much improvement we’ve acquired now in world cricket. We have to cross a long way ahead. The way we are moving forward I think we are in right direction,” Hasan told media at the Westin Dhaka Hotel after a programme, where he and his wife, Umme Ahmed Shishir were formally made Banglalink brand ambassador.
Banglalink, country’s second largest mobile operator, inked another two-year deal with Shakib. This time the mobile operator saturated Umme Ahmed Shishir as the future face. The couple will represent the company in this new digital age as the constant inspiration of the young generation across the country.
Banglalink managing director and CEO Erik Aas and its CCO Shihab Ahmed were also present.
“Cricket is in the blood of Bangladeshis. We’re humbled to be associated with the number one ODI all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir. Cricket unites us all and brings the country together. This association goes to reaffirm our commitment to this country and its people,” Erik Aas said.
“It’s a great day for Banglalink and we’re delighted to have Shakib and Shishir with us in this journey as we move forward in the digital age, opening endless opportunities for our customers,” Shihab Ahmed in his welcome speech said.
Later, Shakib also said that he didn’t watch the whole final match for his business as he will leave Dhaka on Monday to play the upcoming IPL.
“Actually I could not get enough time to watch the whole final match. I watch it in the gap of time. I’m busy in my works as I’ll leave for India tomorrow,” the all-rounder said.
This time Shakib along with Mustafizur Rahman will represent Bangladesh in two different franchised teams in IPL. Shakib will play for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), while Mustafiz will fight for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The left-handed all-rounder said about his compatriot, “I’ve nothing to advice him. He is one of the best bowlers in the world especially in shorter version. He will just maintain his fitness beside the schedules of the team.”
