Homage paid to 10 intellectuals

RANGPUR: The martyrdom day of ten renowned intellectuals of Rangpur city was observed by paying rich tribute to them at Dakhiganj Shwashan Baddhyabhumi Smriti Soudha here on Sunday afternoon, reports BSS.
Dakhiganj Baddhya-bhumi Smriti Rakhshsya Committee and Muktijuddher Smriti Sangrakkhshan Parishad (MSSP) placed wreaths at the Dakhiganj Shwashan Baddhyabhumi and organised a memorial discussion in observance of the day.
After placing wreaths, former General Secretary of district unit of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Comrade Chandan Ghosh presided over thed iscussion held on the premises of the Dakhiganj Shwashan Baddhyabhumi.
Convener of MSSP Advocate Rothish Chandra Bhowmick Babu Sona, President of district unit of Ghatok Dalal Nirmul Committee Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu, leader of Ganotantry Party Nipendra Nath Roy, and martyred family member Tapan Adhikari addressed, among others.
The martyrs are: Advocate Mahfuz Ali Zorjes, Khitish Halder, Ehsanul Haque Dulal, Rafiqul Islam Rafique, Dhirendranath Shanti Chaki, Durga Das Adhikari, Gopal Chandra, Tofazzal Hossain Moharram, Uttam Kumar Adhikari and Pagla Darbesh.
