Jatiya Press Club permanent member Shamvunath Nandi passed away in the capital yesterday. He was 53, reports UNB.
He breathed his last at LabAid Hospital around 1pm, said a JPC press release.
Shamvunath, a senior photojournalist of now-defunct Bangladesh Observer, left behind wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
Meanwhile, journalist leaders paid their last respects to the photojournalist at the Jatiya Press Club by placing wreaths at his coffin.
Jatiya Press Club president Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and general secretary Quamrul Islam Chowdhury expressed deep shock at the death of the photojournalist. In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed their deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
