Laxmipur: Police rescued a man from Chhoyani area of Begumganj upazila in Noakhali district on Saturday night a day after his abduction from Laxmipur Sadar upazila, reports UNB.
The rescued was identified as Rasel Uddin, son of Lokman uddin, a resident of Battali area of the upazila.
Md Arjun, officer-in-charge of Chandraganj Police Station, said a gang of miscreants adducted Rasel a moment after he went out of the house on Friday noon.
After abduction, abductors demanded a huge amount of money as ransom from Rasel’s father.
The abductors also tortured Rasel. According to demand of abductors, Rasel’s father went to the place where Rasel was confined but did not find him there.
While the abductors along with Rasel were changing the place on an auto-rickshaw, Rasel tried to flee away in Chhoyani Bazaar area.
Later the locals caught four abductors and handed them over to police.
Police also seized their auto-rickshaw and an LG. The four abductors were Munna, Nazir Ahmed, residents of Ekabbarpur village, and Jayedul Islam and Sujon, a resident of Dhidpur village of Begumganj upazila.
