Goods worth Tk 46cr seized in March

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods and drugs worth about Taka 46.5 crore and arrested 157 alleged smugglers from different points of the border in March last, reports BSS. The paramilitary force also arrested 214 Bangladeshi citizens on charges of illegal trespassing and prevented 606 Myanmar citizens to enter Bangladesh territory during the period. BGB also seized 19, 599 bottles of phensidyl, 2,08,435 of yaba tablets, 82, 068 pieces of stimulating tablets, 27,997 bottles of foreign liquor, 2,240 kg cannabis, 5,207 stimulating injection, and 4,21,707 pieces of different types of tablets in the last month. During the period, they also seized two pistols, 11 rounds of bullet, three magazines, 3,329 rounds bullet of air gun and seven electric detonators.
