NARAYANGANJ: The ongoing week-long Narayanganj Utshob-2016 is drawing large crowd including men, women, children, teachers and students who are crowding the stalls everyday defying inclement weather, reports BSS.
Organized by the district administration near Osmany Stadium, the Narayanganj Utshab, the first ever of its kind in the district was jointly inaugurated by AKM Salim Osman MP and Deputy Commissioner Anisur Rahman Miah on March 31.
A total of 155 stalls have been set up in the festival of which 70 stalls have been selected for 3,500 items of books of different publishing companies. Bangla Academy, Kabita Parishad, Chandradip, Islamic Foundation, Narayanganj Sudhijan Pathagar, Narayanganj district government Library, Puthi Niloy and Koli Prockashani are among the stalls. Thirty stalls have been set up for science and technology and the rest 55 stalls have been set up for food, cottage and agro-based industries. A big colorful pandel has been erected for discussion meeting, film show, school students debate competition and cultural programmes. The festival remains open from 10 am to 8 pm everyday and it will end on April 6.
