Couple killed in road crash

A couple was killed and six others were injured yesterday in an accident involving a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Rangpur highway at Krisnapur in Sherpur upazila yesterday. The deceased were identified as Thanda Mia, 42, an inhabitant of Kusumbi village and his wife Anjila, 35. The accident occurred when the sand-laden truck collided with the auto rickshaw in the area, leaving the couple dead on the spot and six others injured, said ASI Arif Hossain of Sherpur police station. The injured were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
