The students of Department of Accounting and Information System (AIS) of Dhaka University will get subjects waiver while studying Chartered Accountancy Course, said a press release yesterday.
The students who have already studied related subjects in BBA and MBA or other courses in the university, they would get subjects waiver as well as financial benefits upon fulfilling certain criteria.
ICAB president Kamrul Abedin came up with the announcement while delivering speech at a discussion “Chartered Accountancy: Career Excellence” jointly organised by AIS and ICAB at Business Studies Faculty Conference Hall on Saturday.
He said ICAB and AIS Department would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon, under which students of AIS will get subjects waiver
for studying chartered accountancy.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest former president of American Chambers of Commerce in Bangladesh (AMCHAM) Aftabul Islam said chartered accountancy is rewarding profession in current global business aspects and in Bangladesh it is highly demandable
profession.
At present ICAB have only 1700 members which are not enough to fulfill the market demands. Bangladesh needs more than 12 thousand chartered accountants to serve the country in better way, added Islam.
