The Russian government will provide 20 scholarships to Bangladeshi students, including those of Dhaka University, for nuclear education every year, reports UNB.
Russian Ambassador in Bangladesh Alexander I Ignatov disclosed it when he called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office yesterday, reports UNB.
Alexey D Ponomarenko, Head of Project Office of Rosatom Academy, Russia and Alexander P Demin, director of Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Dhaka were also present, said a press release.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of introducing joint Masters Degree program among the University of Dhaka and higher educational institutions in Russia.
Introduction of a short term training programme on nuclear engineering for Dhaka University (DU) young faculties and students in Russia were also discussed in the meting.

of Nuclear Engineering and Technology Dr Khorshed Ahmed Kabir and Associate Professor Dr Md Shafiqul Islam were present on the occasion.
