Students of the Marketing Department of Dhaka University (DU) staged a demonstration a put barricaded a road in front of the National Press Club in the capital yesterday demanding justice for the killing of Sujan Mridha, a student the department, in police firing during the second phase union parishad election in Madaripur district, reports UNB.
The agitating students blocked the road around 12:50pm and staged demonstration, creating huge traffic congestion in the area that causes immens sufferings to the commuters in the capital yesterday.
Sujan Mridha, a third year student of the Marketing Department of the Dhaka University (DU), was killed as police opened fire at him while he along with others was allegedly snatching a ballot box during vote counting in Sadar upazila of Madaripur on Thursday.
