66 rape incidents, 113 suicides in three months

At least 66 women and children were raped while 113 people committed suicide in the last three months due to family disputes, failure in love affair and sexual assault, said a quarterly report of Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR). Among the 66 rape victims, 25 women and 20 children were raped while 13 were gang raped. 8 of them were murdered after rape. Among the 113 people who committed suicide, 25 were men and 88 were women. Only in Dhaka, 43 women committed suicide in the last three months. They committed suicide mainly due to family disputes, failure in love affair and sexual assault, said the report.
