�Satyen Sen Gono Sangeet Utsab� begins today

Like the previous years, Udichi Shilpi Gosthi, one of the most vibrant cultural organisations in the country, is going to organise a three-day music festival and competition titled Satyen Sen Gono Sangeet Utsab and National Gono Sangeet Competition 2016 from today.
Veteran Jatra artiste Gouranga Aditya will inaugurate the festival today at 4pm at the Central Shaheed Minar premises. Besides, Gono Sangeet artiste Bipul Chakraborty and Anushree Chakraborty from West Bengal will participate, among others, in the festival this year.
Earlier on Wednesday, a press conference was held to inform about this years event. The press conference was attended by president of Udichi Kendrio Sangsad Kamal Lohani, vice president Badiur Rahman, general secretary Prabir Sarder and assistant general secretary Jamshed Anwar Tapan. Prabir Sarder spoke about the different features of the event in details.
Today, the final round of Gono Sangeet Competition will be held at 10am at Music and Dance Centre auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at Segun Bagicha in the city. Tomorrow at the same venue, certificates and crests will be distributed at the afternoon. On the concluding day on April 3, Gono Sangeet artistes Bipul Chakraborty and Anushree Chakraborty will perform at the Central Public Library auditorium.
To note, Manush Jagao, Swadesh Jagao, Biswa Jagao Sangeete is the main theme of this years festival. l
