The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources yesterday reduced the price of furnace oil by 30 per cent, from Tk 60 to Tk 42 per litre. The ministry issued a circular, signed by Ahsanul Zabbar, Additional Secretary of the ministry, stating that the new price will be effective from 12am, 01 April, 2016. Furnace oil is primarily used in the country to produce electricity.
