Man gets life term for kidnapping child

A court here yesterday convicted and sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for kidnapping a child. The court also fined the convict identified as Zoni of Tulatuli village in Raipura upazila o Narhingdi, one lakh taka, in default, to suffer six more months of rigorous imprisonment. According to the prosecution, Zoni kidnapped Aditya on October 2, 2009 from Tulatuli village in Raipura upazila while the boy, accompanied by his father Mostafiz and mother, was going to his grandfather’s house at the village. However, Mustafiz later rescued his son with the help of Raipura police.  After investigation police submitted chargesheet against Zoni. After examining witnesses and relevant papers Judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Shamim Ahmed found him guilty and announced the punishment.
