Daily cause list’, the list of cases to be heard, of the Supreme Court would go online from April 3 to ensure greater transparency and digitalization of the judiciary. The Supreme Court authority will also stop the printing of the cause list from April 3, 2016 as per its previous decision. The move would save Tk 20 crore a year, the amount now spent to print the cause lists, said Supreme Court officials. A high official of the Supreme Court told The Independent that the old system of preparing the printed cause list would be replaced by the online cause list to be posted on the Supreme Court website from April 3. Although the case list system would go online, but some cause would be available at the support centre of the Supreme Court, he added. A committee would monitor the daily cause list and take action in case of any anomalies between the printed cause list and the online cause list, he added.
Supreme Court Bar Association have been alleging for long that bench officers had been manipulating printed cause lists superseding serial on the cause lists.
