Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu yesterday said Bangladesh will become a middle-come country before 2021, reports BSS.
"Not a middle-income country, Bangladesh will be one of the rich countries, if it can make proper use of its marine resources," he said speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) at its Kakrail headquarters marking the Independence Day.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon addressed the meeting as the special guest while IDEB President AKMA Hamid was in the chair.
Former Industries Minister and Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Jatiya Party (JP) Secretary General Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Mojahidul Islam Selim, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) General Secretary Shirin Aktar, MP, and IDEB General Secretary M. Shamsur Rahman spoke on the occasion.
