Bangladesh to play against India in away series in Aug

The cricketers are expected to return to the competitive cricket in the third week of April as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) set the date of the inter club players transfer for the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
The players transfer for 2015-16 cricket season will be held through ‘players by choice’ on April 10. The league is expected to begin on April 20, 10 days after the players transfer.
“We decided to hold the Players by Choice on April 10 and the league will be held on April 20,” said BCB media and communication committee chairman Jalal Younus, after the meeting of the working committee.
The system was inducted in the last season replacing the traditional players transfer system. This is similar to the system which prevailed in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), even though the players opposed the system in the DPL, the BCB didn’t pay heed to it.
BCB though promised to return to the old system in the last season in the wake of the players protest; the clubs remained adamant of continuing with it, considering the fixed price according to the category will resist the players to increase their demand alarmingly.
The board however tried its best also to appease the players as they increased the amount in every category.
According to the revised price the Icon players will get Tk.30 lakh while the players in category A plus 25 lakh, A 20 lakh, B plus 15 lakh, B 12 lakh C 8 lakh, D 5 lakh and E 3.50 lakh.
“The amount in every category was raised. As far as I am concerned the players are now happy. The good thing in this system is that most of the players are benefited otherwise the traditional system could make gainer only some players,” Younus, a former fast bowler, explained.
The board also increased the donation of the clubs 25 percent. The clubs have been negotiating the board to increase their donation for a long time and the re-start of the BPL gave them an advantage to raise their voice.
“The donation of the clubs didn’t increase for a quite some time and that’s why the committee decided to enhance it to 25 percent this year,” Younus said.
With the most coveted league being set to kick-start in the rainy season, the BCB decided to keep a reserve day.
The working committee however also decided to continue with the current selection panel led by Faruque after the selectors contract was expired. Younus said selectors’ contract will be renewed with the consultation of the board. The size of the selection panel will be increased to five from three.
“Since the selection activities has been expanded, it is important to increase the number of the selectors. We have no enough games in the age level and other crickets. So we my appoint to more selectors,” Younus informed.
If the BCB can’t convince the Sri Lanka board to play a bilateral series in Bangladesh, the national players will be available for whole league. The board currently has been in discussion with the Lankan board to arrange a series in the last week of April or first week of May.
The Bangladesh’s next international assignment is supposed to be held in August if India finally keeps their promise to host Bangladesh for a full tour for the first time.
Bangladesh however is scheduled to host England in October and tour New Zealand in December.
