Newly appointed judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court Justice Mirza Hussain Haider and Justice Md Nizamul Haq made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban in the capital yesterday.
During the meeting, different issues including infrastructure of the judiciary, safety and security of judges and transport facilities were discussed, reports UNB.
President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
They said the rate of settlement of cases will increase if necessary facilities are ensured for the judges and sought the president’s cooperation in this regard.
President Hamid congratulated the two judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and expressed the hope that settlement of cases in the higher court would be increased significantly after their appointment to the Appellate Division.
Secretaries concerned to the president were present on the occassion.
