Indian middle-order batsman Suresh Raina flatly expressed their desires and said that they will play to win all the matches of the one day international series against the hosts Bangladesh.
“We are here to win so hopefully we will look to win all the games,” said Suresh Raina yesterday.
“There is a good atmosphere and lots of positivity in the dressing room. Mahi bhai is here now, Virat led well in the Test. Selectors are also here. In spite of the rain, the Bangladesh Cricket Board have organised our net practice well. If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, it will be an important match. The more you enjoy cricket, the better,” Raina told media during the gap of their intense practice session at BCB-National Cricket Academy ground.
“We have done really well in one-days over the years. We are looking to enjoy each and every game,” he added.
The 29-year-old said that the pressure is always there whenever you play for India in the World Cup or other competitive match.
About the reserve day, Suresh Raina said, “It’s a good thing because if the match can’t get over on the first day, we have a day in reserve. But it means we’ll have to think of two days. The rain is not in our hands. We have had a good batting and bowling session and we’ll go and field now. We’ll have a good meeting afterwards and once the match starts we’ll be focused. The weather is not in our hands,”
He said that they are not taking Bangladesh lightly as the team has been formed with the blend of some more talented guys, who performed well in the World Cup Down Under.
“He (Taskin Ahmed) bowled really well in the World Cup. They also have Mashrafe Mortaza, Tamim Iqbal, who’s batting really well and Shakib Al Hasan. They have lots of youngsters and they did really well in the World Cup,” the Uttar Pradesh-born lad, who recently married, opines.
