12 industrial units to get President Award

The government to honour the first ever President’s Award to 12 industrial units tomorrow. The purpose of the award is to inspire all the industrial units to expedite the country’s industrial development and create more jobs, reports UNB.
This is going to be the first such award recognising industrial sector’s contributions towards boosting national income and strengthening country’s overall economy, a senior official at the Industries Ministry told UNB yesterday.
He also said 12 industrial units in five categories have already been selected for the award - President’s Award for Industrial Develeopment-2014’—who established industries in the private sector, involved in production of goods and creating employment opportunities.
President Abdul Hamid will hand over the awards to the recipients at a function to be held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city.  Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Industries Secretary Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan will also be present.
The five categories are large industry, medium industry, small industry, cottage industry and Hi-tech industry.
Three awardees under the large industry category are BSRM Steel Limited, Abdul Monem Limited and BRB Cable Industries Limited, according to a government document.
Basumati Distribution Limited, National AgriCare Import and Export Limited and Jalalabad Frozen Foods Limited have been selected for the award under medium industry category. Three industrial units under the small industry category are Masers Helal and Brothers, Adhesion Products Private Limited and Prince Chemical Company Limited.
Meanwhile, Western Marine Shipyard Limited and Service Engine Limited will be awarded under Hi-tech Industry category while Janani Weaving Factory will be honored with the President’s Award as only industry in cottage industry category.
